Ty Croeso is a small community project on the High Street in Clydach. We are one of the distribution centres for Swansea Foodbank, and hold an open drop in on Tuesday mornings when people can just pop in for a chat, drop off food for the foodbank, or call in with the appropriate voucher to collect food.
We’ve recently opened as a branch of the Neath Port Talbot Credit Union at Ty Croeso, open on Friday afternoons.
We also run a conversation group for those learning the Welsh language and run support groups for any experiencing problems following bereavement, and for relatives of those who are addicted to alcohol or drugs (Families Anonymous). We can arrange 1:1 counselling with a qualified counsellor.
We support Fair Trade, and have available the latest catalogues from, and order forms for, Traidcraft. We also have a range of other leaflets and information, and a small sales table to support us in our work.
Ty Croeso is run by a group of individuals drawn from several local churches, as well as some of another faith or none. We are very generously supported by the Methodist Church locally and more widely, as well as by Vale Inco Nickel Works, the local Community Council, and the County Council. We recently secured a grant from Comic Relief.
