For many years our churches supported an annual project nominated by the Mission committee, alternating between charities in the UK and those working abroad. These focussed on fund-raising and awareness raising. In 2019 the Mission group suggested a different type of project where awareness raising and action (personal and as churches) was central, focussing on the environment and climate change. Due in part to the Covid pandemic this continued for two years. It was then decided not to continue with an annual project, but to use the annual Mission service to focus on a theme relating to justice, peace or particular charity needs. In 2022 the focus for this was on Sanctuary, celebrating 10 years of Swansea being a City of Sanctuary and with guest speaker Rev. Dr. Inderjit Bhogal, one of the founders of the City of Sanctuary movement.
