Ty Croeso is a small non-denominational community project on the High Street in Clydach set up
by a group of Christians of several denominational backgrounds in 2012.

We are one of the distribution centres for Swansea Foodbank (Tuesday mornings). During
those sessions we also invite people to drop in as we are a registered ‘Place of
Welcome’.

We organise a weekly Seated Exercise class and a monthly Repair Café in the
Vardre Road Community Hall; two Welsh language conversation
groups, one online and another face to face for those learning the
Welsh language; and occasional other activities relating to wellbeing and inclusion.

We serve Fair Trade coffee and tea and offer a range of leaflets and information.
Ty Croeso is run by a group of individuals drawn from several local churches, as well
as some of other faiths or none.  We are very generously supported by many
religious groups, including the Methodist Circuit and District, and by some long-term
generous individuals.

We work in partnership with many local organisations including VALE Nickel works, the Clydach Community Council and the Community Garden.

In addition, two years ago we opened a charity shop, ‘O Law I Law’ (meaning from hand
to hand), in Hebron Road. Due to the enormous success of this, Ty Croeso Clydach is financially secure and  able to give grants in the community. So far we have sponsored a holiday outing
for families; a family fun day; welfare support in schools e.g. uniform
and a resource for those with learning difficulties; extra-curricular
activities such as cookery classes; and leaflets for a heritage walk
around the area.
